Discussion
Results from STRING were as expected and remained consistent with prior research of NBN. All proteins said to interact with the human NBN protein possess functions related to that of NBN; no surprises were encountered. Each interaction partner shared a functional feature with NBN whether it be DNA damage response, DBS repair, telomere maintenance, cell cycle regulation or tumor suppression.
After the interaction network was expanded in search for more proteins interacting with NBN, additional DNA damage repair and response proteins were identified, along with a few cell cycle regulators. |
